Tonight sees the annual fire burning ceremony in the small Pictish NE Scottish coastal town of Burghead. They celebrate New Year on the 11th Jan, inkeeping with the changeover of the old calendar to the new. I had the pleasure of filming this event a number of years ago, which is still relevant today and had the good fortune to win a Film Competition. If you go tonight, you will not be disappointed. Best to wear warm clothes and take a flask with you. That is, ‘flask’ of your choice, whether it be to keep your cup of tea warm, or your hip! 😉 Enjoy our short film here:
